More about the Explorer: and why you should choose junk parts

Here's a brief overview:

  • Early Years:
    • The Explorer was designed to replace the Ford Bronco II, offering a more family-friendly and comfortable ride.1
    • Its popularity surged in the 1990s, contributing to the widespread adoption of SUVs.
    • Early generations were body-on-frame designs, emphasizing off-road capability.
  • Evolution:
    • Over the years, the Explorer transitioned from a rugged, truck-based SUV to a more refined, car-like crossover.
    • This shift reflected changing consumer preferences, prioritizing on-road comfort and fuel efficiency.
    • The vehicle has gone through 6 generations, with the 6th generation having a 2025 refresh.2
  • Impact:
    • The Explorer played a pivotal role in shaping the modern SUV segment.
    • It has remained a consistent seller for Ford, adapting to evolving market demands.

Why Used Parts are Beneficial:

For owners of older Ford Explorers, using salvaged or used parts can be a cost-effective way to maintain their vehicles. Here's why:

  • Cost Savings:
    • New parts can be expensive, especially for older models. Used parts offer a more budget-friendly alternative.
  • Availability:
    • For older Explorers, certain new parts may be discontinued. Used parts sources can provide access to these hard-to-find components.
  • Sustainability:
    • Reusing parts reduces waste and promotes a more environmentally conscious approach to vehicle maintenance.
  • Keeping the vehicle on the road:
    • For many people who own older vehicles, they wish to keep them running for as long as possible. Using used parts is a great way to help accomplish that goal.
Our Ford salvage yards in Fresno, Stockton, Pomona and Sacramento often hold dozens of junk Ford Explorers - just waiting for you to come along and strip the parts you need at a cost waaaaay below what a garage will charge you: so check out the vehicles we have in stock and call your nearest yard today.

This place was great. Its updated from when it was pick n pull and the people are fri ndly and helpful. Unfortunately we needed a front bumper of a chevy silverado which apparently is in HIGH demand because the ONE they had that would fit was missing a bumper lol. But the front desk gave us a free admission voucher for the next time we come in on account of us only being inside for a whole 6 minutes. We will definitely be coming back.

Breanna Howard

I highly recommed iPull-uPull. Their customer service is great! I called around town trying to get my questions answered regarding selling a junk vehicle. The person I talked to was very patient and took the time to answer every question I had. They definitely have all of my future business.

Nathan & Jennifer Buster

I love the work they do and when I sell cars they always treat me right! They have good prices and pay cash! I always take my cars there! ?

ford Parts FAQ

What Ford models do you usually carry parts for?

Inventory often includes Ford models like the F-150, Explorer, Escape, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Ranger, Fiesta, and Expedition, based on current yard stock.

Can I get used Ford truck parts at iPull-uPull?

Yes. If a Ford truck like an F-150 or Ranger is in the yard, you may be able to pull affordable OEM parts directly from the vehicle.

What does “Pre-Pulled Engines & Transmissions Only” mean on some Ford listings?

That means the vehicle is not available for regular self-service parts pulling, and that row is reserved for pre-pulled engines and transmissions only.

Are all Ford vehicles on the page available at every location?

No. Each listing shows the specific yard location, such as Fresno, Pomona, Sacramento, or Stockton, so be sure to check the location before visiting.

Why buy used Ford parts instead of new parts?

Used OEM Ford parts can help you save money while keeping your vehicle on the road with factory-fit components, especially for older repairs where new parts can be expensive.
