More about the Explorer: and why you should choose junk parts
Here’s a brief overview:
- Early Years:
- The Explorer was designed to replace the Ford Bronco II, offering a more family-friendly and comfortable ride.1
- Its popularity surged in the 1990s, contributing to the widespread adoption of SUVs.
- Early generations were body-on-frame designs, emphasizing off-road capability.
- Evolution:
- Over the years, the Explorer transitioned from a rugged, truck-based SUV to a more refined, car-like crossover.
- This shift reflected changing consumer preferences, prioritizing on-road comfort and fuel efficiency.
- The vehicle has gone through 6 generations, with the 6th generation having a 2025 refresh.2
- Impact:
- The Explorer played a pivotal role in shaping the modern SUV segment.
- It has remained a consistent seller for Ford, adapting to evolving market demands.
Why Used Parts are Beneficial:
For owners of older Ford Explorers, using salvaged or used parts can be a cost-effective way to maintain their vehicles. Here’s why:
- Cost Savings:
- New parts can be expensive, especially for older models. Used parts offer a more budget-friendly alternative.
- Availability:
- For older Explorers, certain new parts may be discontinued. Used parts sources can provide access to these hard-to-find components.
- Sustainability:
- Reusing parts reduces waste and promotes a more environmentally conscious approach to vehicle maintenance.
- Keeping the vehicle on the road:
- For many people who own older vehicles, they wish to keep them running for as long as possible. Using used parts is a great way to help accomplish that goal.

I love the work they do and when I sell cars they always treat me right! They have good prices and pay cash! I always take my cars there! ?
Javier FuerteThey bought my car off me for twice as much as PNP AND were also twice as friendly and accommodating. I have been a PNP customer for years, but will be returning to iPull-uPull very soon after this very pleasant and stress free experience.
Samuel MarcheseI went to iPull-uPull Auto Parts Sunday afternoon on Stockton Blvd. I signed up for the membership and the tool raffle, the employees were very nice and helpful. They gave me a free car wash coupon for Quick Quack Car Wash. I also got to spin a wheel and won a very nice straw hat. The parking lot was clean and looks to be restriped,it really makes a difference. Also there are new signs explaining how the new auto parts center works. As I went home I received a phone call saying that I was the winner of a tool set. I drove back and received a 103 piece tool set with the case, I was very thankful. I did want a Tshirt, although I believe they gave them all away before I was able to get one. Looks like a great place to shop for Auto Parts, I will go back again in the near future.
